Controversial Obama Painting To Be Unveiled

“The Truth” by painter Michael D’Antuono will be unveiled on President Obama’s 100th Day in Office (April 29th) at NYC’s Union Square. It is causing quite a bit of controversy.
The 30″ x 54″ acrylic painting on canvas depicts President Obama appearing much like Jesus Christ on the Cross; atop his head, a crown of thorns. Behind him, the dark veil being lifted (or lowered) on the Presidential Seal. But is he revealing or concealing and is he being crucified or glorified?
D’Antuono insists that this piece is a mirror; reflecting the personal opinions and emotions of the viewer; that “The Truth” like beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

You are an idiot. A passable artist, probably a basically nice person. But an idiot if you think Obama is to be in ANY way compared to Jesus Christ. He is taking our country down a path to ruination faster than I thought possible. Time will prove me right. I feel so sorry for people like you that cannot see the forest for the trees. In case you think I am a republican right winger, I am not; Bush made PLENTY of mistakes and was probably in bed with the oil companies, but President Obama is hurting our country – our future-, maybe irreparably – and so many people are not seeing it! Unbelievable.
i completly agree with marianne. this is nothing less then blasphemy. i take issue with alot of things that obama is doing.
this artist has gone to far. i hope something happens to this painting. do you know how this not only offends true christians like me, can you imagine how God must feel seeing this atrocity?
as far as i am concerned the artist is truly stupid. _Not now or ever should anyone be compared to Jesus Christ. There is no equal!

I guarantee that this artist is black. Obama is nothing more than a media invention. He has accomplished NOTHING. He is a junior senator that has been pushed to the top by the bankers that run this country. All of the superficial people in the USA think Obama is the greatest thing since sliced bread. None of them know why they like him. I ask people and I hear “He’s inspired so many people”…and I ask, ok, what has he done? Silence follows. Socialism will not work and Obama would be NOWHERE without mainstream media. Watch for Ron Paul to become top dog…he is fighting for citizens rights that the Obama administration keeps trying to take away…End the FED, that created this mess and helped Obama get elected – the FED is the reason our economy is the way it is. I can conclude that people who still like Obama are simply uneducated and believe everything they see on TV, read in the newspaper, and hear on the radio. Mainstream media is owned by the corporations, the corporations run the government (fascism)…and if the scams are to continue they need someone who is a smooth talker…and that, ladies and gentlemen, is why we have Obama. End the Fed, restore the Constitution.
