Street Renamed In Honor Of Run-DMC And Jam Master Jay
The intersection of 205th St. and Hollis Ave. in Queens, NY was renamed Run DMC JMJ Way in honor of Run-DMC and the late Jam Master Jay.
“I lived right down that block,” Rev. Run said at the renaming. DMC said he was overwhelmed by the tribute.
“We are who we are because of you people,” DMC told the crowd.
Jam Master Jay, real name is Jason Mizell, was shot to death in his Queens recording studio in 2002.
“This is a proud day for my whole family,” said his mother, Connie Mizell.
