The man convicted of harassing Ashanti has been sentenced to two years for stalking and aggravated harassment.
“My intent was not to harm,” Devar Hurd told the judge. “I always wish the best for [Ashanti].”
Ashanti said, “We’re really so glad to have this behind us, and we feel justice has been served.”
Since his conviction, Hurd has been diagnosed with a delusional disorder, which apparently prompted his increasingly disturbed fantasies about living with Ashanti, among other things.
The judge recommended that he receive psychiatric treatment while behind bars.
