Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy E. William is suing his ex-girlfriend for a $76,600 engagement ring. Roy sent Brooke Daniels the ring back in February in the mail along with a recorded wedding proposal, she said no. Things got sticky when she refused to give the ring back.
When he asked for the ring she said she had lost the ring so he filed an insurance claim. The insurance company investigated and found out the ring was not lost but in her father’s possession. Her father, Michael Daniels, claims that Roy told her she could keep the ring but he will return it to avoid the lawsuit in which he is also named.
“I want to wash my hands of it,” Michael tells OA Online. “It’s just a hassle. I’ll take care of my daughter. I don’t need him.” He said that when Roy realized Brooke Daniels was not going to accept his marriage proposal, that was when he began to ask for the ring back. Well, duh.
He says they never told Roy the ring was lost, Roy told Brooke she could keep it. They are scheduled for a hearing on Friday.
Editor’s Note: This is not the same Roy Williams that singer Kelly Rowland was going to marry.
