Whitney Houston is in talks to star in the remake of the 1976 movie Sparkle. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she is up for the role of the mother. The movie is about three sisters who begin singing in their church choir in Harlem in the late 1950s and become a successful girl group.
Jordin Sparks is set to make her acting debut in the lead role and Mike Epps will play Satin, a comedian who marries one of the sisters and gets her addicted to drugs.
Production starts next month.
