When Katt Williams arrived on the comedy scene he was viewed by many as the next big thing. That has not materialized as Katt has continue to have run ins with law enforcement in bizarre incident after incident for the last couple of years. In spite of this people still pay money to attend his shows that many times end before a complete performance.
Katt was arrested yesterday in Seattle after he was involved in what police call a “fracas” at a bar. Police department spokesman Jonah Spagenthal-Lee said in a statement:
Just before 2:30 pm, officers were called to the World Sports Grille—near 9th Avenue N. and Westlake Avenue—following a report of a dispute involving Williams and another patron at the bar.
During the incident Williams exchanged words with patrons in the bar, brandished a pool cue at a bar manager and refused to leave the business.
At one point during the altercation, Williams followed a family outside of the bar where, as the family got into their car, Williams flicked a cigarette through a car window at a woman, striking her just below her eye. Williams also threw a rock at the family’s car.
Officers arrived and arrested Williams, 41, who struggled with officers as they tried to get him into a patrol car. Officers were able to get Williams under control and transported him to the West Precinct.
The police were also called to another incident over the weekend involving Katt. After his Friday show he got into an altercation with three fans. The fans say he attacked them when they tried to take a photo with him. Katt claims that fans forced their way into his dressing room but he denied assaulting them. Police did not make any arrests for that incident.
Katt has been booked for investigation of assault, harassment and obstruction for this latest incident.
