Mendeecees Harris Found Not Guilty
Love & Hip Hop star Mendeecees Harris has been found not guilty in his child sex and prostitution case. Yandy Smith’s baby daddy was facing decades in jail if found guilty but the jurors cleared him of the charges.
Harris was charged with sexual assault, child endangerment and promoting prostitution — after being accused of forcing a 15-year-old girl to watch porn with him, expose herself to him, and perform oral sex on him back in 2009.
Harris’ attorney released a statement after the decision, saying, “My client and his family are jubilant that these charges are now behind him … This is real drama, not TV.”
Yandy was a group of people in court to support Mendeecees and when the verdict was read they reportedly “leapt to their feet and stomped, clapped, shouted and sobbed, raising arms skyward, as the verdicts to the eight individual charges were read.” One of them shouted “I love you!” to the jurors. Officers asked them to quiet down and they wouldn’t so they judge had them removed from the court.
Mendeeces faces another trial in New York on drug charges. He faces 5 years in prison if convicted in that case.
