Rihanna has just unveiled photos of her new collaboration with shoe designer Manolo Blank. The collection, called Denim Desserts, is set for a Spring 2016 release. The collection features six limited edition styles that were designed by Blahnik and Rihanna. She models some of the shoes in the April 2016 issue of Vogue UK.
The Bajan princess shares her excitement about the shoe line with the magazine:
“The day I see a woman in the street wearing my shoes… I am sorry for that woman because I’m going to literally run after her, shouting, ‘Stop! Selfie! Who are you? Where did you get them?’ I’m going to have a moment!”
According to People magazine: The collection is inspired by the singer’s hand tattoos and each unique shoe is artfully fashioned with denim, sequins and/or artisan embroidery.
The star raved about the “9 to 5” boots, saying the boots are so sexy, they should come with a warning label. “Guuurrrl! Those boots are dangerous! If you’re trying to get back home to your bed, don’t wear them boots! You will get kidnapped in those boots, those boots are trouble.”
Blank said about working with RiRi:
“This is an incredibly exciting collaboration and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Working with Rihanna has been amazing and her drive, passion, creativity and style has been reflected in the designs, with fabulous results – I think everyone is going to love what they are about to see.”
Denim Desserts will be on-sale on May 5 across three store locations globally in London, New York and Hong Kong.
