Spike Lee won his first Oscar Sunday during the 91st Academy Award for best screenplay adaptation for BlacKkKlansman.

The long overdue win was presented to him by his good friend Samuel L. Jackson. After Sam told him that his beloved NY Knicks broke their loosing strike he had the pleasure of reading his friend’s name. Spike walked to the stage where he promptly jumped into Sam’s arms, wrapping his legs around him.

Sam is 70 years old so glad they were able to pull that off.
