  • Katt Williams Granted Bail

    Katt Mugshot

Katt Williams’ lawyer is claiming that Katt was a guest, not a burglar, at the Georgia home he is accused of breaking into with a crowbar.

The house is owned by record producer Barry Hankerson, according to the police report.

According to his lawyer, Katt has been living in the home for nearly a month while filming a movie produced by Hankerson.

The lawyer claims because of an argument with Katt, an employee of Hankerson’s — Daniel Paul Broach — called police and said Katt had broken into the home.

Bail was set at $40,000 and his lawyers said he working on posting the bond.

As for the $3,500 in jewelry and collectable coins that were allegedly stolen, his lawyer said “we absolutely deny.”

“Mr. Williams wears more than that in jewelry on his person.”

Supposedly the owner of the home told investigators that Katt had his permission to stay at the home. Why does he need to post bail then?

“The community and law enforcement have been very welcoming and kind to him,” Katt’s lawyer said. “This is a misunderstanding which will work out quickly.”
