Jayson Williams To Reportedly Cop Plea
Word is Jayson Williams will plead guilty to a lesser charge tomorrow in the death of a limo driver in 2002.
You might remember Jayson was playing around with a gun in front of several people including Gus Christofi when the gun discharged killing Gus.
Jayson then wiped the gun down to remove his fingerprints, placed the gun in Gus’ hands, jumped in a basement pool after stripping naked in an apparent effort to wash off gunshot residue, and told guest to lie about what had a happened.
He was acquitted of aggravated manslaughter during a 2004 trial, but convicted of several crimes related to the cover-up but the jury in that trial deadlocked on the charge of reckless manslaughter.
Jayson has not yet signed off on the plea bargain, which would get sentenced to three years in prison but would likely only serve 18-24 months with good behavior.
He has been offered several deals over the years since 2004 which he has considered and turned down so lets see if you takes the plea this time.
There is a hearing schedule for tomorrow.
Jayson has lots of drama of lately, where his wife filed for divorce, he was arrested in a bar fight and he was taken to the hospital for psychiatric evalution.
