Ex-NBA Player Lorenzen Wright Found Dead
Former NBA player Lorenzen Wright’s body was found in a wooded area of southeast Memphis. He had been missing since July 19, just hours before he was supposed to ride back to Atlanta area with a friend and his six children. He was last seen leaving his ex-wife’s house. It is believed he left with someone but his ex-wife does not know who.
Nine days ago a 911 call was made from his cell phone and the dispatcher heard a garbled male voice utter an expletive, then at least 10 gunshots, reports the Memphis Commercial Appeal. The phone then went dead. The dispatcher called back but no one answered.
Lorenzen is known to carry large amounts of money and on the day he disappeared he was seen at a barbershop with a wad of cash.
He was 34 years old and leaves behind two daughters and four sons, ages 4 to 15.
