Whitney Houston’s Mother Tells All About Saving Her Daughter
Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston’s mom, recently revealed to Jet that she was “summoned” by God to save her daughter. Whitney says that life-changing moment took place when her mother came to her home with sheriffs and a court injunction, demanding that she enter a drug-rehab facility.
“It was very difficult to show tough love,” said Cissy. “My heart was breaking. I sometimes wonder how I did it. I am so proud of her strength and courage. I thank my family and everyone who prayed along with me during that time for their support.”
The issue hits newsstands Sept. 28.
Golden Brooks Poses For Until There’s A Cure Ad
Golden Brooks is the latest celebrity to pose for Until There’s A Cure AIDs psas.
Golden says, “I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I saw first hand how insidious this disease can be. When I started working with the Elizabeth Glaser [Pediatric AIDS] Foundation, my eyes were opened about the worldwide epidemic and its effect on children. I knew that I’d have to put myself out there to raise consciousness of AIDS as a human threat.”
Golden posed for the ad when she was six-months pregnant with the focus of her ad being the children of Africa. The ad raises awareness for the pandemic by encouraging people to buy and wear The Bracelet, a symbol of unity in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
“When we first heard about [HIV/AIDS], we talked about it and got people to do something about it. But now it’s on the back shelf,” she mused. “AIDS is still a big problem. It’s bigger than just one country. It is wiping out communities. It is wiping out an entire continent. We can’t sit on the sidelines while this is going on. They need our help.”

Beyonce Will Cover Up For Malaysian Concert
Beyonce performing Thursday in Australia.
Beyonce Knowles has agreed to tone down her concert costumes during her Malaysian show after protests about her concert attire and what protesters call “Western sexy performances.”
Concert promoters said “all parties have come to an amicable understanding” about stage costumes at the stadium concert in Kuala Lumpur.
“We are confident that (the concert) will once and for all silence international critics and put Malaysia back on track … in presenting A-list international pop concerts in this region.”
The mostly-Muslim country request performers cover from their neck to ankle while performing in their country.
Beyonce backed out of a show two years ago after similiar protests.

How did you know that Mariah was “the one”? We had a meeting about the video shoot at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and I ordered french fries. I always say grace over my food coming from a family of ministers, it’s the way I was raised so I said, “Can you excuse me for a minute?” and bowed my head. She said, “You ain’t gonna pray over my food, too?! I do the same thing!” A lot of people say they’re spiritual ‘cause it seems like the right thing, but then she pulled an electronic Bible out of her purse. I never meet anyone in the business that’s on the same level as I am spiritually, so that was the first thing that opened my eyes to, Whoa, this could be something unique. We spent the next weekend together, but it felt more like a getaway than a video shoot. It was also her…well, she doesn’t have birthdays; she has, like, anniversaries of her twelfth birthday, so we had that “celebration,” and all weekend we were like, “You too?! No way get outta here!”
