Lil Wayne dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night and he chatted about his recurring seizures, his kids and retiring. He also talked about his feud with the Miami Heat that led to him blabbing that he slept with Chris Bosh’s wife, Adrienne. He claims that day he “was too turnt up.”
Lil Wayne lost his endorsement deal over his offensive lyrics on Future’s Karate Chop Remix. The line “beat the p*ssy up like Emmett Till” offended the Till family and they petitioned PepsiCo to drop Wayne as the Mountain Dew spokesperson.
The company said in a statement: “We do not plan any additional work with Lil Wayne moving forward. His offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand.”
Wayne issued an apology earlier this week but the family found it lacking as a true apology.
Lil Wayne offended and outraged Emmett Till’s family when he rapped the line “beat the p*ssy up like Emmett Till” on Future’s Karate Chop (Remix). The line was later removed when the Till family complained to the record company. This week they asked Mountain Dew to drop Wayne as a spokesperson and he has now finally issued an apology to the family.
Dear Till Family:
As a recording artist, I have always been interested in word play. My lyrics often reference people, places and events in my music, as well as the music that I create for or alongside other artists.
Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne get it steamy for Nicki’s High School video. The two good friends play out a love scene for the Benny Boom directed visuals. Of course, Nicki puts her famous ASSets on display in various bikinis and high heels.
Lil Wayne sent out this video with a message of thanks to his fans after his recent hospitalzation. Strangely enough, he sent the video to TMZ after his camp blasted their coverage of his illness. Anyway, Weezy says he’s all good now and promotes his album and upcoming tour with rapper T.I. T.I. also pops up in the video. Check it out.
Lil Wayne is still in the intensive care unit a Los Angeles Hospital after suffering several seizures last week. The rapper’s condition has improved but not enough to be moved out of the ICU, reports TMZ.
The rapper is suspected of overdosing on sizzurp, a prescription codeine cough syrup and soda concoction. His stomach was pumped at least 3 times when he arrived at the hospital. A source tells Us Weekly that he needs to go to rehab to address the situation. “He drank too much sizzurp to get a better high. He needs rehab but he’s not close to death or anything. He’s fine and just coming down off the high.”
Wayne has struggled with codeine for years. He spoke to MTV News in 2008 about quitting and said it “feels like death in your stomach when you stop. Everybody wants me to stop all this and all that. It ain’t that easy.’’
